The Injil through John presents Isa as the eternal Word of God who became a human being and lived among us. As the book says, this Injil was written so that its readers might believe that Isa is the promised Saviour, the Son of God, and that through their faith in him they might have life (20:31).
After an introduction that indentifies the eternal Word of God with Isa, the first part of the Injil presents various miracles which show that Isa is the promised Saviour (al Masih), the Son of God. These are followed by discourses that explain what is revealed by the miracles.
This part of the book tells how some people believed in Isa and became his followers, while others opposed him and refused to believe.
Chapters 13-17 record at length the close fellowship of Isa with his followers on the night of his arrest, and his words of preparation and encouragement to them on the night before his death on the cross.
The closing chapters tell of Isa's arrest and trial, his death on the cross, and his resurrection (coming back to life) on the third day, and his appearances to his followers.
John emphasises the gift of eternal life through Al Masih, a gift which begins now and which comes to those who respond to Isa as the way, the truth and the life.
The Injil through John contains numerous testimonies about Isa. It is a book written by an observant eye-witness to the events that took place.
The most famous verse is 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
